Lead Plant Layout & Piping Engineer @ Baker Hughes

Job Description

You will be responsible for plants layout preparation, piping design and implementation of operability & maintainability requirements for applications such as on/off-shore gas compression/re-injection stations and power plants.

As a Lead Plant Layout & Piping Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Designing of the general arrangement of Oil & Gas Plants, fulfilling Customer Requirements, International Codes and standards and Local Regulations.
• Being the main reference/interface point with Customer for all Plant Layout & Piping related items together with operability and maintenance studies and assessment.
• Developing the plant design in accordance with current Design Practices and Templates and will play as coordinator for all the disciplines concurring to the design of the plant infrastructures.
• Being responsible of the plant 3D model development coordinating 3D related activities of the other disciplines (not only in the Plant & Modules team but also of the machinery team and other equipment of scope of supply) with specific focus on modules 3D development and construction
• Being responsible to lead and participate in basic and detailed design reviews.
• Developing material requisition for piping systems and lifting equipment, support the Sourcing Department during technical alignment and making the necessary Vendor follow up during requisition
• Being responsible to deliver cost out and productivity fulfilling the required targets not only during requisition but also during the ITO phase to support Sales team.
• Being responsible to perform the daily activities and issue documentation in a timely manner (OTD) with the highest quality.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a Bachelor s and/ or Master s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Have good experience in Plant Layout & Piping Engineering in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or Power Generation Plants design.
• Have good expertise in development of projects by using CAD 3D modeling SW, such as Aveva or Smartplant.
• Have deep knowledge of major technical International Standards related to discipline (ANSI, ASME, API, etc.).
• Have computer skills and knowledge of traditional CAD 2D SW such as Autocad and/or Microstation.
• Have very good oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal and leadership skills. Be fluent in English, written and verbally.
