Introduction
As Site Reliability engineer you will be responsible for providing design, Development and support Cloud Dev-ops environment for a Cloud based Storage management application at IBM India Systems Development Lab. ISDL works on end to end design and development across Power, z and Storage portfolio. You would be a part of WW Storage development organization and would be involved in delivering customer value by maintaining the availability and uptime of application hosted on cloud. You should be able to use Software engineering principles to solve operational challenges to create reliable infrastructure. You should also have leadership quality to guide and work with the team to deliver end to end features. Your Role and Responsibilities

• Support and operate IBM Cloud / AWS based SaaS application.
• Work Closely with Design team in design thinking process to achieve desired user experience.
• Work in an Agile environment.
• You will have access to all the technical training courses you need to become the expert you want to be.
• Learn directly from Senior members/leaders in this field.
• Configuring and maintaining a production scale Docker based environment using kubernetes or Openshift.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the Docker and kubernetes environment.
• Tuning configurations to improve the performance of the platform and applications.
• Follow the change management process for implementing the changes to production and non production environment.
• Automate deployments and Infrastructure as code (eg. Terraform).
• Setting up Logging and Monitoring Solutions for kubernetes clusters (eg. logDNA, SysDig/Prometheus/Grafana).
• Monitoring and troubleshooting issues in Database servers eg. Cloudant, Postgress, SQL server.
• Supporting with Incident escalation and troubleshooting.
• Reducing the toil from everyday work using as much automation possible.
• Must have hands-on knowlede of any scripting language eg. python/perl/Ruby.
• Write detailed documentation / playbooks to help share the knowledge and best practices within the team

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 10+ Years of relevant Industry Experience
• Understanding and experience with Cloud Technologies (preferably IBM Cloud, AWS), Microservices Architecture and container technologies.
• Understanding of Back End or Full Stack Development
• Understanding and experience with DevOps, Agile, and Design/Implementation within CI/CD and Secure Software Engineering Best Practices
• Understanding with RESTful APIs, Ansible, Java, Kafka & GitHub.
• Understanding with no sql databases like cassandara.
• Understanding and experience if IBM Cloud tool chain.
• Experience working with open-source technologies.
• Understanding of distributed applications in a container environment (Docker/Kubernetes) along with experience configuring and administrating Linux (or other Unix-like) systems
• Strong Understanding of Networking concepts and experience in Network development.
• Knowledge of security and compliance standards & requirements.
• Experience of handling customer escalations.
• Ambitious individual who can work independently towards agreed targets/goals and with creative approach to work.
• Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Domain Knowledge on Storage System management.
• Experience working on IBM Cloud.
