MEP - Engineering Development Process
Procurement & Contracts Strategy
- The decision on to appoint a single MEP Contractor or multiple Contractors for Plumbing, Fire Fighting and HVAC discipline of the MEP will have to be made by the Management, prior to the issuance of the tender package to the market.
Appointment of Consultants
- Prepare and issue the Request for proposal (RFP) for MEP Consultancy Services.
- Prepare a comparative statements on the Consultants fee proposal, for further discussions with the Management.
- Finalize the MEP Consultants for the projects.
- Prepare and issue the MEP Engineering design Services Work Order to the Consultant.
Consultancy Payment Certification
- Monitoring the Deliverables certifying the payments applications
Consultants Additional Fee Claims & Variations
- Monitoring the design changes and keep records of those changes
- Validate the Consultants additional fee claims for the design changes
Front End Engineering Design
- Preliminary Water Demand Assessment
- Preliminary Cooling load Assessment
- Preliminary Fire Fighting System Assessment
- Water Balance Flow-chart
- Engineering support documents for Authorities approval
Project Engineering Development
- Prepare and provide a brief, on the requirements of Oberoi Realty, to the Consultant.
- Ensure compliance with the Statutory Authority Codes.
- Review of Design Brief Report (DBR).
- Review of Schematic Design (SD).
- Review of space plan for the plant rooms and major equipment.
- Provide Value Engineering suggestions and necessary correction to optimize the engineering.
- Review of Detailed Design.
- Review of engineering calculations such as, water demand calculations, cooling load estimate, sizing calculations of the pumps, chillers, AHUs etc.
- Attend coordination meeting/WebEx with consultants and architects on a weekly basis.
- Review of Tender Specification, Tender Drawings & BOQ.
- Review of Good for Construction drawings, for constructability.
- Attend the weekly site coordination meetings of all projects.
