Job Description
TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements. BU / FUNCTION DESCRIPTION
Manufacturing Engineering-BOI Tool Design
ROLE OBJECTIVE
Qualified Tool Designer-with requisite CAD, design, drafting skillsets, specialized in progressive die design.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze engineering drawings, preparation of strip layout, concepts and progressive die design for high speed stamping.
Managing the day-to-day activities to achieve organizational goals.
Developing and implementing a timeline to achieve targets.
Perform engineering calculations as related to tool designs.
Produces working drawings, detail drawings and bills of materials. (Creo & ZWCAD).
Work in 2D and 3D drafting platforms.
Detail and create model/ drawings and reference documents from Sketches or verbal instructions.
Responsible for communicating time estimates and resource requirements on design tasks to the EMEA team and project managers.
Interaction with CFT for reviews, trials, evaluation of component / tooling elements.
Conversant with drafting standards, GPS / GD&T systems.
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE
BE / B-tech in Mechanical Engineering (with tooling background)
Post Diploma in Tool design (NTTF /GTTC)
Knowledge on
o High speed stamping process and die design. (Connector terminal stamping).
o Tool material, material specifications, heat treatment and its processes.
o Tool building, Tool assembly, measurement, testing and tool room processes.
o ISO/TS requirement.
CRITICAL EXPERIENCE
Min 3-5 years of experience in various engineering field related to connector terminal high speed stamping design, product and process development.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations and public speaking.
Working knowledge on MS Office tool. (MS Excel, Word & Power point).
Automation / Molding design will be an added advantage.
