As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, you will design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs that launch cutting-edge, world class products that meet and exceed customer needs. Qualcomm Software Engineers collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams to design system-level software solutions and obtain information on performance requirements and interfaces. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. Title: Engineer Job function: Software Development Engineer Skills/experience: 1-3 years experience in video domain (preferred) Solid CC++, multithreading and OS conceptsfundamentals. Good analytical and problem solving skills. Experience in Android multimedia framework andor Video4Linux2 (V4L2). Knowledge of Video user space hardware abstraction layers like Codec2.0, OpenMax IL. Linux Operating system (Kernel, Performance). Knowledge of video specification such as H.265/H.264/VP8/VP9 Experience in several of the following areas: (Good to have) Video usage models including playback, streaming, camcorder, and content protection Android multimedia frameworks and video related applications Streaming protocols and implementation (e.g HLS/HTTP/RTSP/DASH) Linux device driver development and debugging (e.g. V4L2) Expertise in working with tools and techniques used on Linux (Windbg, JTAG, etc.) ARM or other embedded SoC development and debugging Responsibilities: Part of video development team and will be responsible for bring-up, design, development, optimization and productize video use cases on Android and Linux mobile platforms.
