We are seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to join our dynamic team as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist cum Radiation Safety Officer (RSO). Position Summary: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist cum RSO is responsible for the preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals, operating imaging equipment, and performing diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures. Additionally, the individual will serve as the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO), ensuring compliance with all radiation safety regulations, protocols, and guidelines to maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff. Key Responsibilities: Nuclear Medicine Technologist: Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients for diagnostic imaging procedures. Operate and maintain nuclear medicine imaging equipment, including gamma cameras and PET scanners. Conduct patient assessments to ensure correct procedure protocols are followed. Collaborate with physicians and medical staff to assist in the interpretation of diagnostic imaging results. Ensure proper documentation of patient procedures, doses, and related information. Monitor and support patients during imaging procedures, providing care and guidance as needed. Radiation Safety Officer (RSO): Develop, implement, and enforce radiation safety protocols to ensure the hospital complies with national and international radiation protection standards. Monitor radiation exposure levels and maintain accurate records of radiation usage. Conduct regular radiation safety training and awareness programs for hospital staff. Inspect and maintain radiation protection equipment to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety regulations. Respond to radiation safety concerns and incidents, investigating and providing corrective actions as required. Prepare and submit necessary reports to regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with local laws and regulations regarding radiation safety. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelors degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field. Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology (e.g., CNMT or equivalent). Certification as a Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) or eligibility to attain certification. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine, preferably in a hospital setting. Strong understanding of radiation safety standards, regulations, and best practices. Proficiency in using nuclear medicine imaging equipment and interpreting diagnostic results. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and urgent environment. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and patient care.
