Role

To manage day to day operations of Derivatives Collateral Management team. Organizes work of the team, assigns tasks, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work. Possesses the leadership and organizational skills required to prioritize assignments and provide feedback to the staff. Conducts performance management and career development processes. Provides input and support to management in achieving common organizational goals.

Knowledge & Skills:

The candidate should possess the following skills:

Understands Derivatives trade lifecycle and associated functions.

Understands the way Collateral Management function and more closely has an understanding of derivatives markets

Understands the role this function plays in the entire Derivative system / set-up

Understands functions performed by Collateral Management and Collateral Managers.

Must have extremely good product knowledge about various derivative products

Exposure to cash and trade settlements.

Must be capable of implementing controls related to set-up of a Derivative product on our systems

Excellent attention to detail, and giving extreme importance to timelines and deliverables

Ability to work constructively under time pressure.

Ability to communicate with clients (Both internal and external)

Excellent communication skills both written & verbal

Having experience with any of Custodial and/or Investment Management firms in a Derivatives processing area will be an added advantage

Adaptable to change

Ability to multitask and work with calm under crunch situations

Excellent interpersonal skills for liaising with related departments and Middle Offices

Excellent client handling skills

Principal Responsibilities :

The principle responsibilities of the Team Lead may include, but may not be limited to, the following;

  • Take responsibility of daily functions / operations of the Collateral Management team.
  • Organizes the work of the team, assigns tasks, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work.
  • Certifies the accuracy of the sign-off or tasks that get performed on a daily basis
  • Reviews various documents with utmost accuracy and with a control perspective in mind
  • Periodically reviews the procedure documents / checklists
  • Frequently comes up with process enhancements / control measures and suggestions of improving the existing process flows
  • Possesses very good leadership and organizational skills required to prioritize assignments and provide feedback regularly to staff
  • To manage a team of Analysts & Sr. Analysts and ensures that any people or operational issues are handled as per the guidelines provided both at an organizational level and specific process level
  • If the situation so demands then timely escalation of the matter to the next level of management
  • Adherence to procedures and SLAs
  • Identifies and manages resolution of service delivery root causes
  • Ability to act as a process expert and own and resolve complex queries and issues not only of self but also for the immediate sub process
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all related departments and Middle Offices
  • Review the work performed by other analysts and senior analysts
  • Ability to train and mentor new hires on the process
  • Pro-actively communicate the procedure updates to the team. Ensures that all DPADs/client profiles are kept up to date at all time

EDUCATION & Experience:

  • Bcom/BBM/MBA (Finance)
  • 5 to 6 yrs relevant experience, preferably with team handling exp.
