Job Description

    Position Overview: We are seeking a Vendor Manager to oversee the selection, negotiation, and ongoing management of vendors and suppliers. The Vendor Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our business maintains strong relationships with external partners, delivers high-quality products and services, and achieves cost efficiencies. This role requires an analytical, detail-oriented, and strategic individual with a proven track record in vendor management and supply chain management. Key Responsibilities: Vendor Selection & Onboarding: Identify and source potential vendors, ensuring alignment with company needs and standards. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with new vendors. Onboard and integrate new vendors into the business, ensuring smooth operational transitions. Vendor Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key vendors. Act as the main point of contact between vendors and internal teams. Address and resolve vendor-related issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards. Monitor and ensure vendor performance and compliance with contract terms. Lead negotiations for contract renewals and amendments. Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track and evaluate vendor performance based on KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) such as delivery time, product quality, and cost efficiency. Provide regular reports on vendor performance, cost savings, and potential risks to senior management. Implement corrective actions when performance does not meet agreed standards. Cost Control & Budget Management: Develop strategies for cost savings, ensuring competitive pricing and value-added services. Review and approve vendor invoices, ensuring alignment with contract terms and budgetary guidelines. Optimize vendor spend and identify areas for continuous improvement. Risk Management: Assess potential risks associated with vendors, including financial, operational, and reputational risks. Develop contingency plans to mitigate any supply chain disruptions or vendor-related issues. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, supply chain, finance, and legal teams to ensure alignment and efficiency across functions. Facilitate communication and collaboration between internal teams and vendors to improve processes and achieve business objectives. Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field. [Additional certifications, e.g., Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or any relevant industry certifications] are a plus. Experience: Minimum [3-5] years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or supply chain management. Experience negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships. Strong background in managing performance metrics, KPIs, and budgets. Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and vendor management systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Desirable Qualities: Strong business acumen and a results-driven mindset. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality. Adaptability to changing market conditions and vendor landscapes. Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
