The achievers and courageous challenge-crushers we seek, have the following characteristics and skills: Roles & Responsibilities: Collaborate with Product Development team to design and develop new products and improve existing products utilizing DFM, DFA, and value engineering Perform the development, testing, and validation of the product design and components through testing and analysis (Test Lab, DOE) Coordinate with engineering project team to problem solve and design. This includes detail-oriented and analytical report out. Success comes from organization, dependability, being a good team player as well as an independent contributor. Integrate electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, electronic, and/or pneumatic system design with components. Responsible for specifying cost effective and reliable hydraulic, electrical, and/or pneumatic components and systems that meet machine and customer requirements. Utilize background knowledge of mobile equipment powertrain, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components and systems to solve problems. Design and continuously improve electrical connectors and routing of wire harnesses; experience with fittings, valves, filters and hose routing for hydraulic systems will add to success. Design and continuously improve wire harness and schematic design using Autodesk AutoCAD or similar CAD software. Program PLC - Codesys and Parker IQAN design environment Efficiently use Solidworks, Autodesk AutoCAD, or similar CAD software to design hydraulic, electronic and/or pneumatic schematics. Required to adapt with suppliers as new technologies are developed. Ensure supplier components meet current and future needs. Travel to customer locations for system start up, troubleshooting, and training up to 10% of the time. * Use root cause analysis to drive permanent corrective actions. Coordinate with and consult assembly, production, and service personnel to resolve design, manufacturing, or assembly issues. Interact directly with customers as new products are being developed to ensure complete customer satisfaction. Customers often include maintenance personnel and internal service teams that help resolve product issues. Provide detailed product support for existing products. Work with internal personnel and external suppliers to continuously improve cost and simplicity of the product. Perform assigned duties and assist in supporting personnel toward the achievement of department and company objectives. Required Skills (Technical Competency): Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related technical degree from an ABET accredited program. Preferred Masters Degree Preferred Professional Engineer Proficiency in MS Office Proficiency in PLC programming CAD design of electrical systems Data Analysis Desired Skills: Experienced with mobile/industrial equipment control system design Electrical systems as it relates to heavy machinery Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and good decision making. Sense of urgency.
