Job Description
- Conduct thorough medical examinations to evaluate patients health conditions.
- Review medical history and conduct tests to make accurate diagnoses.
- Prescribe medications, therapies, and other treatments based on the diagnosis.
- Develop personalized treatment plans for patients and monitor progress.
- Provide clear explanations and advice to patients about their medical conditions and treatment options.
- Perform medical procedures (if applicable to specialization), such as surgeries, biopsies, or minor treatments.
- Administer injections, immunizations, and other procedures as necessary.
- Continuously monitor patients' conditions and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Advise patients on lifestyle changes, nutrition, and preventive care to improve overall health and manage chronic conditions.
- Educate patients and their families about health concerns, treatment plans, and the expected outcomes of different procedures or medications.
- Provide mental health support or referrals as needed, especially when dealing with chronic conditions or life-threatening diagnoses.
- Maintain detailed, accurate, and up-to-date medical records for each patient, including history, diagnosis, treatments, and follow-ups.
- Ensure proper documentation of all patient interactions, test results, and procedures performed in compliance with health regulations.
- Use electronic health record (EHR) systems to track patient data and ensure continuity of care.
- Collaborate with nurses, specialists, healthcare teams, and support staff to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Consult with colleagues and specialists when necessary, especially for complex or uncommon cases.
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and healthcare committees to improve hospital or clinic processes.
- Conduct follow-up visits with patients to monitor recovery progress or the effectiveness of treatments.
- Recommend additional testing, referrals to specialists, or adjustments to the treatment plan as required.
- Provide ongoing care to patients with chronic conditions, offering long-term management and support.
- Ensure adherence to medical protocols, healthcare regulations, and safety standards.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research, treatments, and best practices in the field of medicine.
- Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality of patient information as per HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).
- Advise patients on preventive care, such as vaccinations, screening tests, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Participate in health awareness programs or community outreach initiatives to promote public health.
- Stay updated with medical advancements, new technologies, and changes in medical guidelines through continuing medical education (CME).
- Participate in clinical research and contribute to evidence-based practices where applicable.
- Attend conferences, workshops, and other professional development events to further knowledge and skills.
