Job Description:
Sr. Embedded Hardware Design Engineer to architect, design and develop embedded hardware subsystems for Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) applications.
Specific Responsibilities:
Architect, design and develop embedded hardware subsystems for flight and safety critical UAS applications
Board- level mixed signal circuit design, schematic development and component selection
Perform design validation and verification through simulation, analysis, proof- of- concepts, prototype development
Provide board layout constraints, routing guidelines, hardware board bring up guidelines
Mentor other hardware design engineers and PCB layout engineers with the goal of adding capability to the team
Review PCB designs of analog and digital systems for new product development
Initiate and support continuous improvements in products, processes, workflow
Support for developing embedded system products including writing requirements, standards, test procedures and test reports for such products
Qualifications: Bachelors/ Masters degree in ECE/ ICE/ Electricals/ Electronics or other related field
Experience: 3 5 years
Desired Characteristics:
Experience in embedded hardware design and exposure to entire embedded product lifecycle
Experience in Microcontroller, Microprocessor and single board computer (SOC) based circuit design
Experience in power budgeting, design of power regulation electronics, high speed analog and digital circuits
Experience in layout development and manufacturability for multi- layer compact PCBs
Experience in SI simulation and reliability analysis using various tools
Knowledge of designing for interfaces such as USB, I2C, UART, SPI, Ethernet, CAN
Familiar with PCB tools such as CADSoft Eagle, Altium, PADs
Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills
Design of circuits containing embedded processors and FPGAs is a plus
Knowledge in flex PCB designs is a plus
Knowledge of design for EMI / EMC compliance, testability and manufacturability is a plus
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Creative and curious open to learning, identifying and solving problems
Self- driven, able to work and manage self independently
