- Position Title: Purchase Engineer Instrumentation Location: Rashmi Group, Kharagpur Reporting to: Head of Procurement Industry: Steel, Ductile Iron Pipes, Infrastructure Role Type: Full-Time Role Overview: The Purchase Engineer Instrumentation will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring instrumentation equipment and systems required for production and operational processes at Rashmi Group. The role demands a strong understanding of instrumentation systems such as sensors, controllers, and measurement devices used in industrial settings. The engineer will collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure that procured instrumentation supports the efficient, safe, and cost-effective functioning of the companys operations. Key Responsibilities: Identify and source instrumentation equipment and components required for monitoring, controlling, and optimizing production processes, ensuring alignment with technical specifications. Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, pricing, reliability, and ability to meet delivery timelines. Collaborate with the engineering and operations teams to understand instrumentation needs and provide effective procurement solutions. Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and long-term agreements while ensuring quality. Ensure that all instrumentation equipment complies with industry safety standards and company-specific technical requirements. Monitor inventory levels for instrumentation components and ensure timely procurement to avoid delays in production and maintenance activities. Collaborate with the quality control team to address any issues related to instrumentation quality or performance. Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier agreements, and component performance for auditing and future reference. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in instrumentation technology to optimize procurement strategies and drive innovation.
