Software Engineer-Data Engineer @ Sunquest Information

Position Summary

As a Software Engineer and a member of a dynamic and multi-functional Agile development team, you will be responsible for crafting, developing, and unit testing product features with an eye towards user-centric workflow accuracy within our scientific and healthcare suite of products. To be successful in this role you need a real passion for quality software, a dedication to customer happiness, and an ability to work effectively in a matrix organization. You will need a positive attitude, persistence, a love of problem solving, and the ability to communicate with people at all levels of a product development organization.

Essential Functions

• Develop and implement custom visuals and extensions in Power BI as needed.

• Optimize Power BI performance and handle data refresh configurations for complex dashboards.

• Optimize data models and queries for performance

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into effective visualizations

• Train other team members on advanced Power BI functionalities.

• Assist Business Analysts with technical aspects of Power BI and report design.

• All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  

Skills needed to be successful

• Understanding of user-centered design processes.

• Understanding of standard methodologies in code management.

• Ability to synthesize complex scientific data.

• Effective communication and collaboration with data scientists, engineers, and business analysts.
  

Required Experience Education

• Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience

• PowerBI

• Minimum 5 years of experience working with PowerBI

• project experience using

• Power BI Premium, Power BI Embedded, Power BI Custom Visuals

• Working knowledge of

• Core Power BI Services: Power BI Report Builder, Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power BI Gateway

• Proficiency in DAX, M, and SQL.

• At least 2 years of experience with the following or similar:

• Azure Integration Services: Azure Synapse Connectors, Azure Data Lake Storage Connectors, Azure Active Directory Integration
  

Preferred Experience Education

• Master s degree in a relevant field.

• Power BI Python and R Integration, Power Query M Language

• Experience with data modeling and ETL proce

• Knowledge of scientific data software, medical devices, or healthcare software

• Certifications in Power BI or related technologies
