Job Description
- To perform procedures independently as per privileges bestowed upon him or her as per hospital policy.
- To conduct in-patient rounds independently and with the respective junior consultants and duty medical officers.
- To ensure initial assessments at admission, daily progress notes, and discharge summaries are completed accurately by junior staff.
- To supervise registrars and ensure they discharge their duties effectively and efficiently.
- To verify the examination findings and medication orders written by junior consultants and registrars.
- To impart relevant patient education as and when required.
- To take part in patient management in the intensive care unit, hasten recovery, and reduce ICU/hospital stay.
- To attend to patient complaints reported by registrars or nursing staff as required.
- To give orders for discharge as per the patients condition and inform the registrar/resident to carry out the necessary actions.
- To attend to all emergencies while on call.
- To abide by the policies and procedures of the hospital.
- To help ensure compliance with quality standards and closure of non-conformities.
