 Infrastructure Automation Engineer Lead

Job Description

Automating end-to-end life-cycle management of Servers & Storage infra in Cloud (AWS & Azure) -- including provisioning, installation, software packaging, patching, planned & unplanned maintenance, service configuration and integration with our monitoring platform.
Development & continuous enhancement of tools, utilities, reports & frameworks to assist production support, operational processes, re-engineering efforts etc.
Work closely with Cloud Engineering to enable development of end to end automated platforms
Develop new automations in Ansible or new Lambdas (self-healing & INC-minimization).
Contribute towards API gateway-related deliverables.
Contribute towards developing a holistic Front-end for our Core Infrastructure services, which would initially meant for operational & visibility for our team, but would simultaneously provide few frequently-needed info by App-teams.
Move towards improved data-visualization, self-service provisioning & self-healing, using Python, Ansible, Terraform, CI-CD etc.

Key Responsibilities

Perform moderately difficult and independent assignments in the troubleshooting, problem diagnosis, problem resolution and ongoing production support for one or more technologies.
Pro-actively monitor the stability and performance of various technologies within area of expertise and drive appropriate corrective action prior to an incident or problem occurring.
Actively collaborate with fellow members of the team and contractors/vendors on bridge calls to prevent or resolve incidents/problems in an expeditious manner.
Recommend, deploy and document strategies and solutions for problems/incidents based upon comprehensive and thoughtful analysis of business goals, objectives, requirements and existing technologies.
Independently identify key issues, patterns and deviations during the analysis.
Participate and provide input in the continual refinement of processes, policies and best practices to ensure the highest possible performance and availability of technologies.
Create, maintain and update documentation including troubleshooting guides, procedure/support manuals, and communication plans.
Continuously develop specialized knowledge and technical subject matter expertise by remaining apprised of Industry trends, the direction of emerging technologies, and their potential value to the business.

Required Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent academic qualification.
7-10 years of System Administration experience in supporting, engineering, developing & optimizing automation solutions on RHEL based On-Premise or Post-Premise, currently working as L2/L3 team-member in a Service Delivery model.
Candidate should have exposure to Basic ITIL concepts viz. Incident/Change/Problem/Request management.
Mandatory: 6+ years of expertise with RHEL Linux System Administration.
Mandatory: 2+ years of Hands-on experience or knowledge on AWS EC2, S3, EBS, VPC, Cloudtrail, Systems manager, CloudFormation or Lambda
Mandatory: 3+ years of Hands-on experience in managing Ansible Tower or Ansible CLI and experience to work with Modules, as a Configuration Management Tool.
Preferred: Should be familiar about Agile/Scrum methodologies and must have worked in a Sprint driven Support Group.
Preferred: 2+ years of experience of managing at-least 4 member team.
Preferred: Hands-on experience or knowledge in writing SHELL(Bash) or Python scripts.
Preferred: Hands-on Experience in writing Terraform modules for various AWS and Azure Services, crafting ideal IAM policies and experience with policy as a code tools like checkov.
Preferred: Exposure to ServiceNow and JIRA would be desirable.
Preferred: Experience with GIT & Bitbucket for version control.
Proficient in handling System Security vulnerabilities and OS configuration deviations that improves the overall security posture.
Exposure to Server QA/validation, Server-Build: Design, Delivery & Asset Management & Server Decommission
Skillset and experience in handling operational issues in supporting native AWS/Azure services
Proficient with Platform & Infrastructure OS Patching, Releases, Upgrades, Migration, Refresh, etc.
Experience in handling NFS/CIFS related issues on Production or Non-Production environment.
Windows Active Directory &/or LDAP knowledge is highly desirable
Detail oriented, self-starter, capable of working independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document, design & present proposals
Strong attention to detail and with ability to focus on quality and efficiency.
Ability to communicate and articulate technical information across various organizational levels
Highly innovative problem solver with strong analytical and customer service abilities required
High reasoning aptitude and ability to quickly understand complex operating environments
Strong thought leadership and motivation with the ability to work independently
Solid understanding of monitoring tools and monitoring techniques with focus on problem determination and prevention.

SME in AWS Cloud technologies (EC2, IAM, LoadBalancer, SSM, CFT, Lambda, S3, EFS, EBS, FSXn, Security-Groups, VPC)
SME in Ansible scripting
Extensive Exposure to Terraform scripting
Exposure to PowerShell scripting
Exposure to Shell scripting
Exposure to CI-CD (Jenkins) & Bitbucket/Github
Exposure to MS-Azure cloud
