Job Description
- Experience of managing large sized database Infrastructure deployment environment.
- Should have sound knowledge of Data base performance tuning, Query optimization, Indexing and normalization.
- Develop simple and complex stored procedures, functions and views to meet enhancement requirements.
- Provide best practice guidance to the development team about database design and usage.
- Develop automation technologies to expedite the process of loading data into the end target.
- Develop ETL strategies for integrating data from multiple sources in data warehouses.
- Design and develop relational databases. Schedule consistent maintenance on the server.
- Develop appropriate corrective actions to resolve production data issues.
- Design database schema to meet new enhancement requirements.
- Optimize database performance Monitor security and prevent any unauthorized access to the database Maintain backups and perform disaster recovery in case a disaster destroys the database.
- Develop ETL strategies for integrating or migrating data from multiple sources.
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience of 5-8 years in PostgreSQL. Hands-on experience with database migration, especially from Oracle to PostgreSQL. Strong understanding of database architecture and design. Proficiency in SQL and database scripting.
- Familiarity with database tools and technologies.
- Experience with backup and recovery processes and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and should have excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with database automation, should have knowledge of data protection regulations and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
- Willingness to stay updated with the latest technologies.
- Experience in training and mentoring junior staff.
- Working experience for government clients would be added advantage
