Currently we are looking for Manager, Software Engineering The Manager, Software Engineering is responsible for developing and leading international technical teams focused on delivery of quality products in a timely manner. This position collaborates with other technical leaders around the world to ensure a cohesive product suite. What You Will Be Doing Ensure the delivery of timely, high quality software, delivered both in the cloud and on-premises. Collaborate with internal stakeholders around the world to meet business requirements through helping the team align with prioritized backlog while contributing to technical solutions by helping to define user stories Ensure alignment with product vision through collaboration and frequent communication with technical leadership and product owner. Establish team organization in support of product direction Lead a team to understand, adhere to, and consistently implement the software development lifecycle. Proactively identify and communicate potential roadblocks to the team and leadership Provide technical guidance, hands-on assistance, and promote team culture with an emphasis on security, quality, and engineering agility; remove barriers to enable the team to be productive Execute department processes and standards to ensure alignment across the organization. Continuously improve processes through effective communication and acting as a motivator of change within the department Contribute to and manage to approved budget Collaborate with team members and cross departmental stakeholders in creation coordination and achievement of mutual goals Manage and lead the direction of executing department benchmarks protocols and objectives. Assess employee and team performance against established quality metrics; track team performance against established metrics and hold direct reports accountable for meeting defined performance standards; provide feedback to employees Perform all managerial functions and responsibilities associated with hiring, compensation, management, employment relations, and termination of employees Develop team members; coach employees through their personal growth in: functional expertise, communication skills, and ability to effectively interact with clients and peers. Assist with identifying and developing future leaders Operate as a thought leader among the team; contribute significantly to the overall growth and quality of the department Serve as an escalation point for issues; provide guidance, resolve issues as necessary, and remove obstacles for team What Will Make You Successful Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Relevant software industry experience Demonstrated technical skills to effectively manage technical teams Excellent collaboration skills applied successfully within a team as well as other areas Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills Experience with Agile or willingness to learn and follow Kanban or other appropriate principles and methodologies Demonstrated fiscal responsibility/accountability in managing budgets Excellent attention to detail Excellent interpersonal skills; able to maintain solid rapport with team members as well as maintain professionalism with those outside of department Excellent leadership, sound judgement, and business acumen skills Excellent oral and written communication skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact Excellent organizational prioritization and time management skills Excellent facilitation and project management skills Excellent customer service orientation Self-motivated with follow through and attention to detail Proficiency with presentation and data analytics Excellent ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and tact Excellent ability to establish rapport and gain the trust of others; effective at gaining consensus Able to thrive in a fast paced deadline driven environment Ability to coach, mentor, and provide feedback to team members in a timely manner Excellent ability to develop, use, and deliver engaging informative and compelling presentation methodologies Sharp, fast learner with technology curiosity and aptitude Excellent business and technology acumen Proficiency with CI/CD principles On call/after hours escalation may be required Up to 5% travel time required Hylands Offering Were proud of our culture and take employee engagement seriously.
