- Synopsis of the role The Foodimentary Group is a rapidly expanding purveyor of quality Indian foods. Co-founded by celebrity chef Anjum Anand and head-quartered in London, our products are sold in UK, Australia, the Middle East and India. Our clients include Coles, Sainsburys, Spinneys and Tesco. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading efforts involved in designing, programming, implementation and maintenance of information systems. This position will suit database developers who enjoy the challenge of applying their expertise in relation to systems development, having ability to design, develop and improve solutions. The candidate with an aim to be a database architect is best suited The key responsibilities for this position are Documentation, requirement analysis, designing, programming, testing, implementation, maintenance, performance tuning and support of developed information systems Essential functions Microsoft SQL Database Developer, who will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining SQL databases. The Database Developer is responsible for analyzing requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing technical support and maintenance for existing database systems. Key responsibilities include: Database Design: Designing tables, stored procedures, views, and functions. Ensuring data integrity and security. Query Development: Writing SQL queries to retrieve or manipulate data. Handling user permissions and access control. Performance Optimization: Tuning queries for efficiency. Monitoring database performance. Documentation: Creating and maintaining documentation. Assisting application development staff with database-related tasks. Critical skills and job complexity (not addressed in section 2) Unique knowledge and skills Keywords: Microsoft SQL Server, Database Developer, T-SQL, SQL Server, SQL Query Optimization, Database Performance Tuning SQL CLR, Stored Procedures, ETL Contact types / levels internal & external Organisation wide Problem solving & decision making Professional approach and conduct Able to take initiative Preferred education and experience Relevant degree (e.g., Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems). 3-5 years of experience with SQL and scripting languages. Knowledge of data modeling concepts. Experience with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS) or writing custom ETL code would be an asset. Familiarity with Agile methodology and SDLC. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to take initiative and drive projects forward with minimal supervision. Work environment and physical demands No unusual physical work environment demands.
