Job Description
- We are seeking a skilled Palo Alto Firewall Engineer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, and management of Palo Alto Networks" security solutions. This role requires in-depth knowledge of network security protocols, firewall management, and experience in deploying Palo Alto firewalls in complex enterprise environments. Key Responsibilities: Implementation and Configuration: Install, configure, and manage Palo Alto firewalls, ensuring optimal performance and security. Design and implement firewall rules, policies, and NAT (Network Address Translation) configurations. Integrate Palo Alto firewalls with other network security tools and systems. Network Security Management: Monitor network traffic and firewall logs to detect and respond to security threats. Implement VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), SSL/TLS encryption, and secure remote access solutions using Palo Alto technology. Regularly update firewall firmware and software to the latest versions, applying patches and fixes as needed. Troubleshooting and Support: Provide level 2/3 support for network security incidents and troubleshooting issues related to Palo Alto firewalls. Collaborate with the IT and network teams to resolve connectivity issues and optimize network performance. Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain detailed documentation of firewall configurations, changes, and network diagrams. Generate regular reports on firewall performance, security incidents, and compliance with security policies. Security Best Practices: Stay current with the latest network security threats, trends, and best practices. Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry standards. Training and Knowledge Sharing: Provide training and support to IT staff and end-users on firewall usage and best practices. Mentor junior network engineers and share knowledge on Palo Alto products and network security. Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) or equivalent certification. 5+ years of experience in network security, specifically with Palo Alto firewalls. In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, OSPF, etc.) and security technologies. Experience with firewall policy management, threat prevention, and VPN configuration. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.,
