Job Description
- Position Name:- PostgreSQL Administrator Job Description- seeking a highly skilled PostgreSQL Administrator (Admin) to manage, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL database environments for the Emerson Black Box project. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with database administration, including , configuration, backup and recovery, and performance tuning. Prior experience in Azure ADO environments and manufacturing domains would be an advantage. The PostgreSQL Administrator will work in collaboration with a cross-functional team to ensure the seamless operation of the database systems in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment. Years of experience :- 5+ Years Roles and Responsiblities :- Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases in a production environment. Administer PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability. Implement security best practices, including user roles, permissions, and encryption, to protect sensitive data. Perform regular upgrades, patches, and version upgrades of PostgreSQL instances to ensure they are up-to-date and secure. Monitor database performance and optimize queries and server configurations. Implement and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies. Manage user access and database security controls. Innovative Uplifting Solutions -2- Work with the development team to provide guidance on query optimization and database design. Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including performance bottlenecks and system outages. Stay up-to-date with the latest PostgreSQL releases, features, and best practices. Collaborate with the team on improving automation and database management processes Ensure database systems are compliant with internal and external standards. Qualification & skills :- 5+ years of experience in PostgreSQL database administration, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and high availability setups. Strong experience with PostgreSQL installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades. Proven expertise in database performance tuning and optimization. Hands-on experience with database replication, backups, and recovery techniques. Expertise in Azure ADO environments and related tools. Familiarity with cloud-based PostgreSQL deployments and monitoring tools. Strong knowledge of database security, access control, and auditing. Experience in the manufacturing domain is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a cross- functional team environment. Innovative Uplifting Solutions -3- Certification in PostgreSQL (e.g., Certified PostgreSQL DBA) is a plus.,
