Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior MS SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with 6-12 years of experience to manage, optimize, and ensure the availability of our SQL Server environments. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SQL Server architecture, performance tuning, high availability solutions, and database security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead installation, configuration, and management of SQL Server instances (2016/2019/2022).
• Design and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and resource management.
• Manage high availability solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, clustering, and replication.
• Implement and monitor database security measures, including user access, encryption, and auditing.
• Provide expert troubleshooting and support for complex database issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize databases for performance and scalability.
• Stay updated on the latest SQL Server technologies, patches, and upgrades.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior DBAs and IT staff.

Required Skills:

• 6-12 years of experience in SQL Server database administration.
• Expertise in database architecture, performance tuning, and high availability solutions.
• Proficient in SQL, T-SQL, and tools such as SSMS, SQL Profiler, and PowerShell.
• In-depth knowledge of backup, restore, replication, and clustering strategies.
• Experience with SQL Server security management, including encryption and auditing.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure in critical situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft SQL Server certifications (MCSA/MCSE/MCDBA) preferred.
• Experience with cloud-based SQL Server (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS).
• Familiarity with database monitoring and automation tools.
