Role Overview
Design Manager is a sales cum design role. It is an individual contributor role but requires coordination with production, site supervisors, and technicians and taking assistance from interns/designers where required. Hence, should be strong in design, sales conversion, and communication.
Should have a good sense of aesthetics and at the same time technically strong.
The right candidate will be an architect with design and build experience of 6+ years and have worked with a company specializing in kitchens and wardrobes
The following activities are expected of a Design Manager
Interview marketing qualified leads to understand their needs
Gather deeper insights into customer needs and problems through our process of Empathy Sessions
Convert marketing qualified leads to confirmed orders
Suggest the right kitchen/wardrobe designs to match the customers functional and emotional needs within their available budget.
Work in SketchUp / Autocad to prepare drawings and customer presentations
Prepare quotation (BOQ) using spreadsheets
Handle customer meetings in the showroom or on-site. Manage design and quotation iterations
Help customers select the right finishes, appliances, accessories, and countertop
Co-ordinate with the site and production team to validate the designs through our internal process of Draft Check and Site Marking
Prepare final detailed drawings for customer sign-off and release the order to production
While the order is in production familiarise the site team with the design details of the project
Co-ordinate with Site Supervisor, Technician, and Customer to clarify queries on site
Perform a Quality Check of the finished kitchen/wardrobe and give a go-ahead for the Site Supervisor to Handover the project
Ensure projects are managed without defects and rework
Suggest & lead design, process, and product improvements
Understand and the markets offering of colours, materials, and finishes. Stay up to date with relevant industry trends
Have in-depth knowledge of Oaktree product catalog
Ensure customer satisfaction and a delightful customer experience
