Job Description
Dear Applicants,
We are Hiring for Senior SQL Server Cloud DBA wit 5+ years of Experience in Hyderabad Location.
Roles and Responsibilities
Experience in a large scale, mission critical SQL Server environment
Experience working with SQL Server databases in Azure public cloud
Extensive experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting
Experience configuring, implementing, and monitoring various high availability technologies such as
Azure failover groups, Replication, Log Shipping, Availability Groups and Windows Failover
Clustering.
Extensive experience with backup and recovery scenarios, as well as advanced scenarios such as
point in time recovery and working with Azure storage for backups.
Experience working in a multi-tenant SaaS environment
Knowledge of Cloud infrastructure such as networking, security, access control, storage, cost
optimization, etc.
CI/CD experience with regards to SQL Server
PowerShell and automation experience for managing SQL Server at scale
Experience with monitoring tools such as Redgate SQL Monitor.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelors degree in computer sciences or related experience
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
5+ years hands-on experience working in an enterprise scale or customer facing SaaS
environment.
5+ years experience in large scale 24X7 SQL Server Environment.
Experience managing SQL Server using Powershell.
Ability to create and configure backup and maintenance plans.
Experience monitoring with RedGate SQL Monitor and responding to alerts.
SQL Server installation & configuration in production environments using best practices.
SQL Server assessments, health checks, performance analysis and security audits.
SQL Server extended events
SQL Server patching, upgrades, and migrations.
Setup and configuration of SQL Server Availability Groups and related H/A D/R technologies.
Azure Data Factory
Setup, configuration, management, and monitoring of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and
SSIS scale-out.
Setup, configuration, management, and monitoring of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and
SSRS scale-out.
SQL Server advanced configurations such as parallelism and plan cache optimization.
Strong ability to troubleshoot and tune poorly performing queries.
Virtualization configuration and ability to right size environments.
Strong understanding of core infrastructure components.
Strong understanding of storage and networking, able to diagnose disk and network I/O issues and
provide recommendations for data protection and performance.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and function effectively in a fast paced and changing
environment.
Exhibit sound judgement.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to collaborate with others, seek the input, experience, and ideas of others, and build
consensus.
Ability to organize and create SQL Server infrastructure diagrams and documentation.
A passion for database technology; Constantly seeking continuing education, keeping up with
industry changes and trends.
Ability to take constructive criticism or feedback.
Experience implementing operational best practices such as monitoring, health checks, logging and
metric aggregation reporting.
Experience working in an agile environment and using GIT for source control.
Ability to work independently, but still contribute and work within a small team environment.
