Head Medical Safety Experts Office - Hyderabad @ Novartis Healthcare

Your responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1.Manage the strategic planning of the activities delivered by the Medical Safety Experts within the Medical Safety Experts Office.
2.Provide strategic leadership within the Medical Safety Experts Office to ensure compliance in Medical Safety activities and drive compliance and quality to consistently high standards.
3.Defines the Medical Safety Experts Office management strategy and operational plan, in writing procedural documents and guidelines in order to establish common rules for the Medical Safety Experts Office.
4.Ensures optimal communication and feedback between the Therapeutic Areas and the Medical Safety Experts Office.
5.Solicits and forecasts future requirements for the Medical Safety Experts Office. Creates a roadmap and strategic vision for the planning of various activities within the Medical Safety Experts Office.
6.Organize and plan the work of the Medical Safety Experts as per aggregate reports and regularity documents schedule for the different Therapeutic Areas.
7.Organize the schedule of the Medical Safety Experts for ad hoc urgent activities, i.e. Health Authority Requests for the medical safety Therapeutic Areas.
8.Organize the monthly schedule of the Rapid Action Force / On-call Medical Safety Experts for any urgent requests coming from the Therapeutic Areas.
9.Liaise with the Head Patients Safety and Global Program Safety Leads to get feedback on the performance of the Medical Safety Experts and ensure that adequate training is put in place accordingly.
10.Is responsible for overall training and career development planning for the Medical Safety Experts group.
11.Evaluates and promotes innovative solutions that meet business requirements and improves quality and business support.
12.Develops effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful execution of the Medical Safety Experts Office.
13.Responsible for overseeing operational activities for the Medical Safety Experts Office deliverables.
14.Accountable for enhancements of operational processes to increase productivity, efficiency and quality to achieve operational excellence for all activities performed by the Medical Safety Experts Office.

Minimum requirements

Advanced degree or equivalent education/degree in life science/healthcare. MD, MBBS, PharmD, PhD preferred. Languages: Fluent in spoken and written English Required professional experience:
10 years in drug development in a major pharmaceutical company (of which 7 are in a global position in safety/clinical/medical affairs or other relevant line function at an operational or medical position);
Demonstrated people management experience (direct/matrix).
Strong leadership and people management skills, with ability to successfully lead, engage and develop a highly effective team. Demonstrated record of accomplishment of successful work and management of outsourced activities and proven record of excellent communication skills with vendors.
Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, decision making, problem solving, communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills;
Results driven, self-starter with proactive working style, committed and accountable, transparent working style also under pressure
Quality oriented; good planning, organizational and computer skills.
