Job Description
Floor-layers are trained in sub-floor preparation and installing a range of floor coverings in commercial locations and site conditions. Commercial floor-layers will install textile, resilient, wood and tile products on commercial sites, in public spaces and industrial buildings.
As a commercial floorlayer you will be responsible for the preparation and installation of a range of floor coverings in commercial and site conditions including textile, resilient, wood, tile and resin products.
The job role of a commercial floorlayer includes the following duties:
- Measuring up floor spaces
- Working accurately from detailed plans and specifications
- Preparing the subfloor to receive the floorcovering
- Using hand tools, power tools and specialist equipment
- Measuring, marking and cutting floorcoverings
- Installing the final floorcoverings using a wide range of methods
- Working with adhesives
- Removing old flooring
- Working alongside other trades on commercial sites, in public spaces and industrial buildings.
