Job Description
We are a digital banking platform dedicated to the financial inclusion of micro-enterprises in India. We are enabling access to finance for the "next billion", seamlessly via a hyperlocal network of financial advisors supercharged by technology. Our market consists of 50+ million micro-enterprises across India such as kirana stores, restaurants, salons, retailers and others. Our mission is to solve their banking needs by providing suitable credit-, saving- and insurance products through a "Phygital Model", using a dedicated hyperlocal network of financial advisors for last-mile distribution and collections. Our cloud-based application is built on state-of-the-art technology and our proprietary credit risk assessment combines traditional and new data sources, psychometric analysis and advanced statistical analytics. We are a seasoned team of entrepreneurs and professionals with successful prior exits and deep-routed DNA in lending and technology and backed by leading international investors.
Role & Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the company's digital lending platform with regards to solution design, architecture, software engineering and cloud infrastructure management.
- Lead the development of all digital assets (mobile applications, middleware, backend, rest APIs) across a modern cloud-based microservice architecture
- Build and lead a strong and high-performing development team consisting of business analysts, software engineers and site reliability engineers / cloud architects.
- Introduce best-practices of modern software development to ensure high productivity and fast implementation cycles: agile development process, code reviews, test automation, devOps, continuous integration / continuous deployment
- Plan and deliver the technology roadmap in line with the company's strategy, business needs and customer feedback in collaboration with all business functions
- Architect and deploy a state-of-the-art cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud
- Design a real-time data warehouse and analytics infrastructure for MIS and business intelligence across all business functions
- Develop and deploy solutions using AI / machine learning models for automated decisioning / advanced analytics
- Create an engineering talent acquisition strategy and pipeline in line with the growth of the company
Work Experience & Skills
- 10+ years of relevant experience in software engineering and architecture with increasing responsibilities and success in leadership roles and a track-record of successful deliveries
- Strong knowledge with hands-on experience in JavaScript, Node.js, Postgres, Rest APIs and microservice design
- Exposure to Agile and Scrum processes with experience as Product Owner and / or Scrum Master on Jira or Rally or similar tools
- Past record of working with cloud providers such as Amazon, Google, MS Azure for engineering deployments
- Experience with acquiring, mentoring and ramping up engineering (or non-engineering) talents
- Exposure to data engineering / data science / machine learning technologies would be considered a plus
- Prior experience in financial services, banking or NBFC-domain as well as Fintech would be considered a plus
- Passionate and ongoing track-record of staying up-to-date on latest technologies (course certificates, application in projects, etc required)
- Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills to drive thought process with internal & external clientele
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
B Tech / BE / M Tech / ME or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant fields
