Job Description
Overview
We are looking for a passionate Senior Java Developer to join our backend team. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic developer who can work with little to no supervision and is eager to learn and grow his/her skills in the field.
Key Responsibilities
Work as part of cross functional, passionate agile project teams to ensure quality is driven into the heart of the development process from requirements definition through to delivery.
Design, Develop, Maintain Java or other JVM based applications that can process high-volume data with low-latency.
Research, recommend and implement tools and technologies as needed with the goal of increasing performance and automation.
Proactively bringing issues and problems to the attention of the team; generating, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to solve them.
Work closely with the QA Team, Product Management and Technical Operations as well as business users and Senior Management, as required.
Have the drive to become a expert in: High-Volume, Low-Latency efficient Systems Development Unit Testing / Integration Testing Debugging / Resolving Issues Writing well-designed, re-usable, readable, testable code. Continuous Improvement
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Required Strong background in, and at least 3 years of working with Java / J2EE or other JVM technologies.
Alternatives for Java / J2EE include: Clojure Kotlin Scala Thorough understanding of SDLC, specifically development in agile environments.
Experience in developing multi-threaded applications for high performance systems.
Experience in developing RESTful Web Services for a Micro-services architected system.
Proficient working with relational databases such as MySQL or PostrgeSQL.
Working knowledge in Unix/Linux.
No compromise attitude on Coding Standards and Best Practices in developing highly efficient and effective applications.
Advantageous
Experience working with NoSQL database technologies such as MongoDB or DynamoDB. Prior experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop Stack (Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Spark, etc) or ELK (Elastic, Logstash, Kibana).
Understanding of Real-time Processing technologies such as Kafka, Storm, Heron, NiFi, etc.
Understanding of UI / UX technologies such as AngularJS, NodeJS, ReactJS etc.
Proficient with any Unit Testing Frameworks such as JUnit or Mockito.
Building development infrastructures using containerization technologies such as Docker and working within continuous delivery / continuous release pipeline processes.
Developing enterprise applications for deployment to cloud environments such as AWS / Azure / GCP etc. SaaS or PaaS experience.
Look for candidates with good knowledge in Java script, Collections, Oops, RestAPI. Linux is not mandatory.
