Required Skills: Linux administration

JD:
Essential:
- Excellent knowledge of multiple OS platforms such as Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, SuSE and Solaris.
- Excellent knowledge of Linux system internals and kernel tuning.
- Excellent knowledge of configuring Linux operating systems for optimal performance.
- Excellent knowledge of performance monitoring, tuning utilities, and commands.
- Excellent knowledge of security hardening principles in line with CIS industry benchmarks.
- Excellent knowledge of networking, storage, database, and virtualization layers.
- Excellent knowledge of clustering and high availability.
- Excellent knowledge of replication and disaster recovery.
- Excellent knowledge of security and auditing.
- Excellent knowledge of data security governance and regulations such as GDPR and SOX.
Desirable:
- Good working knowledge of Python, Perl and Bash scripting.
- Good working knowledge of Ansible and SaltStack.
- Good working knowledge of Red Hat Satellite.
- Good working knowledge of VxVM and VxFS.
- Good working knowledge of NFS and CIFS.
- Good working knowledge of TCP/IP Networking Protocols.
- Good working knowledge of Infoblox DNS.
- Good working knowledge of ESX VMWare.
- Good working knowledge of Nutanix HCI.
- Good working knowledge of EMC and HDS storage arrays.
- Good working knowledge of EMC Networker, Data Domain, and IBM Tivoli Storage Manager.
- Good working knowledge of Icinga 2 and OpManager.
- Good working knowledge of IBM Tivoli and Netcool.
- Good working knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, and Kerberos.
- Good working knowledge of GitHub, Subversion and TeamCity.
- Good working knowledge of BMC Control-M.
- Good working knowledge of CyberArk.
- Good working knowledge of Splunk and QRadar.
- Good working knowledge of Qualys.
- Good working knowledge of SharePoint, JIRA and Confluence.
- Good working knowledge of ServiceNow and Serena Business Manager.
- Responsible for managing, maintaining, enhancing and strategic development of all Linux related technologies in EMEA as well as internationally for the Securities Business.
- The Platform Operations team are responsible for providing 24x7 Linux support in EMEA and internationally for the Securities Business.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring daily health and compliance checks are performed for all Production systems.
- Responsible for ensuring Linux systems are backed up successfully and any issues are promptly resolved.
- Responsible for ensuring monitoring alerts are detected promptly and satisfactorily resolved.
- Responsible for ensuring sufficient capacity is available to accommodate projected BAU growth.
- Responsible for ensuring all emails sent to the team distribution list are responded to in a timely manner.
- Responsible for ensuring problem tickets and service requests are handled with efficiency and the customer in mind.
- Responsible for ensuring Linux platforms are highly available, reliable, secure and performant.
- Responsible for installation, configuration, tuning, upgrades, and general maintenance activities.
- Responsible for providing technical support to application support and development teams.
- Responsible for providing consultancy to application support and development teams.
- Responsible for executing disaster recovery procedures when necessary.
- Responsible for applying patches and security updates as per defined policies.
- Responsible for reviewing and subsequently remediating items detected by Qualys vulnerability and compliance scans.
- Responsible for ensuring that all project/investment related workloads are delivered according to plans and budget defined.
- Responsible for ensuring all operational procedures are kept current and accurate.
- Responsible for participating in On-Call rotation, triaging, and addressing production issues as they arise.
- Responsible for identifying cost saving and optimisation opportunities within MUS EMEA and the wider MUFG group.
- Responsible for building strong relationships across the Bank and Securities with other Bank and Securities functions and business areas, underpinned by trust and the core values of the bank.
