Job Description

Function Description:

Develop and deploy risk variables and strategies on proprietary Big Data and Cloud environment using big data/Java tools and framework
Contribute into evaluating and/or developing right tools, common components, and capabilities
Though primary role will be focused on strong delivery which will require design, development, coding and support however candidate is expected to lead broader efforts including designing Capability Strategy, leading scrum and driving alignment of implementation schedule

Purpose of the role:
Supports the creation of design and quality standards for the modernization of logic and the associated journeys used in risk capabilities. This role is accountable for understanding, communicating and prioritizing the voice of the business logic management community in support of quality risk products that maximize benefit to our cardmembers while minimizing operational and reputational risk. The role serves as a content expert in their portfolio and collaborates with the business partners, technology architects and scrum teams in this goal as related to the broader roadmap.
Partners with Product Development peers, Logic Designers and Developers to drive development of logic solutions
Instrumental in mapping point-of-departure to point-of-arrival as well as transitional or point-of-next solutions to bridge current state and future state
Works closely with logic designers to ensures key initiatives adhere to BLM design standards and initiate refresh when significant business and/or technology strategy emerges
Deeply understands the impact to cardmembers and provides oversight on the quality measures ahead of the technical deployment
Reviews architecture of risk systems and verify implementation of logic is consistent with the agreed architecture design
Introduces and educates business and technology partners on industry tools that can be leverage to increase productivity, quality and transparency in risk management capabilities
Influences, leads and communicates among constituents within program increment/big room planning with respect to the product vision, features and relevant design considerations; approves BLMs PI objectives
Initiates proof-of-concept ideas, and partners with delivery teams to execute in a lab environment

Qualifications

Past Experience:

6 years relevant experience Preferred
Academic Background:

Functional Skills/Capabilities :
Demonstrated experience of consistently driving strong results as an individual and in groups
Understanding of Project Management (Agile)
Ability to effectively interpret technical and business objectives and challenges, and articulate solutions
Ability to think abstractly and deal with ambiguous/under-defined problems
Looks proactively beyond the obvious for continuous improvement opportunities
High energy, demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies, and takes pride in how fast they develop working software
Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases

Technical Skills/Capabilities:
Strong SQL skills
knowledge of Big data and related technologies
5-7 years of experience as a data developer, data scientist, or otherwise supporting role in complex data environments
Working knowledge of Business Rules Management Systems (BRMS) and/or workflow orchestrators such as Pega and JBPM
Experience working in Agile| SAFe environments

Knowledge of Platforms:
Amex Data Systems (For internal candidates)
Cornerstone/ Teradata warehouse/CAS / GAM/GNA / GCAP
