Job Description

About the role:

Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the Compliance Officer must keep pace with change to our statutory and regulatory requirements as well as our transformation programmes and agile ways of working in the delivery of our products and services. Our work environment is a dynamic, sensitive and confidential work environment. We work with exceptional precision right first time to exceptionally high standards. The Compliance Officer must, therefore, be highly organised, diligent and be able to work in an agile way to support internal customers resolving compliance queries often at short notice, whilst delivering on core compliance services to strict deadlines.

The Compliance Officer must be well versed with control testing standards to manage and deliver the control sampling and testing service. The role may be required to support other compliance matters such as advisory services to support customer queries on compliance matters and bid support for commercial needs.

 

Role Accountabilities and responsibilities:

Support the development of education and awareness workflows to deliver the overall compliance education programme making sure our systems and controls becomes habitual for all stakeholders.

Support the delivery of advisory services to stakeholder forums defining best practices compliant with GRC frameworks, policies and procedures to safeguard our systems and controls or enhance same when opportunities arise in a way that is proportionate to risk

Stay up to date and collaborate in workflows to inform the business on new statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to the business keeping codes of practice and ways of working up to date to drive the right behaviours.

Deliver 2nd line controls monitoring and testing to assess the standards of compliance within the business against our controls framework, including statutory and regulatory requirements.

Report on trends from 2nd line analytics to provide Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) leadership with insights into where targeted improvements can be made to mitigate risk exposures.

Support the team with customer audit activity when required to showcase the business and the positive impacts from the GRC programme

Support colleagues in the compliance team with the delivery of the programme and proactively contribute to teamwork

Proactively seek opportunities from compliance forums and activities that could enhance our products and services.

Essential Skills:

Qualified to a degree level preferably for a related subject and /or minimum 3 years demonstrable and practical experience in operational and regulatory compliance as a compliance professional.

Sound operations experience sustaining compliance with internationally recognised standards

Reasonable understanding of; data protection requirements and financial crime prevention and anti-money laundering requirements in payment services and, insurance products.

Must have strong analytics skills

Strong probity and investigatory skills to identify control failures and vulnerabilities and articulate recommendations

Must be a strong collaborator to build and develop relationships with other controllers in the 3 lines of defence for testing purposes

Can make informed decisions about enforcing company policies and practices

Knowledge and experience of applicable statutory and regulatory requirements

This role is fundamental for delivering the control testing programme for the group and requires high levels of precision with focus on attention to detail to ensure outputs are delivered right first time every time. The role requires intense periods of focus to analyse high volumes of transactional and controls data and interpret complex data sets.

This is a challenging and diverse role that needs someone with character that can create an efficient and effective control testing programme for the business utilising technical knowledge, skills and expertise to deliver exceptional standards of management information used for Executive and Board reporting.

The position is based at our office in Kochi, Kerala with operations aligned to time zone of the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.
