The Opportunity

Adobe's Experience & Engagement Innovation team is looking for a Senior Developmental Editor to co-develop editorial standards and methodologies, and lead content quality improvement efforts on helpx.adobe.com -- Adobe's help and learning website.
You'll work closely with help writers, content managers, content strategists, UX designers, product managers, and data analysts to up-level our content experiences, evolve the structure of our most visited pages, and collaborate with our writing teams to evolve our voice, style, and tone.Who we want

We are looking for an expert developmental editor who loves the craft of writing, and who can dig into the details of copy. Somebody who is creative as well as analytical, with a passion for solving problems and helping our customers be wildly successful. An extraordinary teammate will have a collaborative and resourceful style of working with others, and enjoys building the skills of writers as much as developing incredible content.What you'll do

Your top goal is to help our international group of writers to improve our online help and videos, so customers can quickly find answers. You will strive to make our content easy to find, easy to follow, and measurably more engaging.Key tasks:

• Propose improvements to the approach, structure, and visuals of our top how-to and troubleshooting articles.
• Champion a consistent, friendly voice and tone focused on our non-technical audience.
• Analyze various sources of user data and customer behavior research to better help users resolve their issues.
• Identify educational opportunities for writers, and develop and provide training sessions to improve writers core skills.
• Develop and facilitate positive working relationships with writers and team leads.
• Update and maintain style guides, word lists, and grammar rules that provide guidance to our writers.

What you need to succeed

• Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in English, Instructional Design, or related studies
• Five to eight years of experience with developmental and content editing
• Proven track record in leading and guiding writers to deliver more impactful content
• Excellent structural editing, verbal communication, and creative problem-solving skills
• Ability to produce concise and straightforward copy edits
• Familiarity with current SEO principles and experience applying them to informational and educational content
• Knowledgeable about emerging technologies, creative products, and web communities
• Accustomed to working across multiple time zones and with colleagues of different cultural backgrounds
