Job Description
We are currently looking for Senior Developer Research Systems background in research science is essential.
In this role, the successful candidate will participate in all aspects of software development (design, development, testing, maintenance, support) of the new Software Development Core Facility. This is a hands-on development role responsible for design, implementation, and lifecycle management of the products built/configured for the research community.
The successful candidate will be working in concert with the scientific research community on data pipelining, script and app creation, QA/QC, and machine learning.

Job Responsibilities:
- Solution design which will include interactions with business partners across research, corporate and clinical environments.
- Elicits and documents business and functional requirements as they pertain to new products, tools or solutions
- Writes detailed, testable requirements and use cases for the desired or proposed solution to verify that the software meets the business requirement.
- Supports the QA team by reviewing and providing feedback on test cases as well as keeping documentation up to date as discrepancies are identified
- Designing, developing, testing, releasing, and maintaining software solution configurations as the basis of solution deployments.
- Delivering application product (design, code/configuration, documentation, testing, and maintenance) that meets or exceeds the needs of our customers in terms of quality, generality/flexibility, functionality, and timeliness.
Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
This position requires the skills of a software developer. The technologies and experience listed below is representative of the knowledge, skills, technologies and/or abilities required
- Strong computer science skills and experience
- Programming experience; Object-oriented, multi-threaded, n-tier programming in a modern language/environment (.Net, C#, Java, C++, Swift, MATLAB)
- Experience of basic statistical language (Python, R)
- Database access technology and database programming; SQL, SQL Server
- Experience with Microsoft Server components: IIS, SQL Server, Windows Server OS, ASP, .Net
- Unstructured data processing (Image, text sounds)
- Web development technologies; HTML, XML, Ajax, Django, Flask, Ruby
- Version control system (GitHub, BitBucket)
- Development and performance testing and tuning of both local and server-based applications
