Standard duties and responsibilities
n Responsible for one or more product domains ensuring quality within those domains
n Contribute to the business objectives though an understanding of market direction and how it affects your domains
n Engage with internal stakeholders, up to board level, to lead and influence decisions about the direction and priority of your domains
n Communicating your vision of the product to internal and external stakeholders
n Documenting customer centric functional requirements and user stories
n Customer engagement with the purpose of understanding their needs and validating their intended outcomes
n Prioritising requirements and adding to the product backlog in line with business objectives
n Lead development teams through decisions about sprint priority
n Active participation in sprint planning, retrospectives, meetings & daily stand-ups
n Facilitating collaborative discussions within development teams to ensure a focus on quality and delivering the correct solution
n Determine the standard that development work needs to meet before it can be approved for deployment to the customer
n Work with other Product Owners to ensure that project deliverables are met without compromising on quality
n Provide a regular report detailing key updates to your product domains in order to engage internal stakeholders in the direction of your product
n Participate in end of Sprint & internal product demonstrations
n Provide product demonstrations to the customer in order to solicit their validation and feedback
n Follow the Emis Enterprise Architecture (EEA) process including inception, elaboration, construction & transition phases
n Lead and engage with customers through the Early Adopters Phase (EAP) to ensure the product is fit for purpose
n Play an active role in pursuing and sharing best practice within the Product Owner team
n Engage with, influence and lead other Product Owners in following best practice
n Make a positive contribution to the continuing evolution of Agile methods of working within the business, including the EEA process
The post holder is responsible for ensuring that the team delivers a meaningful product/ successful project and that this represents the voice of the customer. Working in an Agile environment the Product Owner is responsible for developing user stories based on communication with the end customers, strategically prioritising requirements and be in a position to answer questions and deliver direction when needed. The Product Owner must feel comfortable in being the final say on product decisions. The Product Owner would remain accountable for the product until it has been fully accepted into the business as usual processes.
n This role is based in Leeds but will require occasional travel to customer locations
n You will be expected to work on multiple concurrent projects
n You will be expected to work closely with local and remote development teams
n Academic Qualification: B.E/B.Tech, MCA with consistent academic performance from X, XII standards onwards.
n Agile understanding and exposure

n Experienced at leading and engaging in collaborative discussion
n Excellent interpersonal skills
n Basic knowledge of how software is developed and deployed

n EMIS Web domain knowledge

The post holder is accountable to the Development Director and takes engineering instruction from the Head of Software Engineering in respect to People, Process and Code.
In order to perform their duties in addition to working alongside other engineers and testers, the post holder will also be in regular contact with Solution Architects, Project Managers, Product Owners, Deployment, Hosted Services, Support, Training and Health Information personnel and other stakeholders.
The post holder has to comply will all the Policies (Security, Health and Safety, General) issued and updated from time-to-time by the Company.
The post holder has the following management responsibilities:
n Facilitate, promote and encourage efficient communications between development team members.
The post holder is responsible for the following administrative tasks:
n Reporting on progress, issues and plans for work they are responsible for to their team where required.
n Maintain and contributing to the development Wiki with technical best practice/methods.
n Completion of any activities required by departmental procedures.
