Job Description

 

The goal of CHAI s SRH programme is to prevent mortality and morbidity due to unintended pregnancies and unsafe abortion. CHAI aims to achieve two primary objective:

1. Increase uptake of highly effective contraceptive methods among women and girls

2. Increase access to safe abortion services and postabortion care

Responsibilities

  • Develop understanding of the demography needs including stakeholders in the healthcare infrastructure at each governance level - from block through state level.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key government officials and other stakeholders at divisional and district level and work in close collaboration for systematic implementation of the operational plan. Apprise government officials at all levels (block, district and state) of CHAI s intervention, map needs and provide recommendations based on field insights.
  • Expand State/District level government interaction network and reporting in consultation with the Manager.
  • Keep abreast of the latest data/developments/schemes, necessary for program implementation.
  • Organization of CHAI and Govt meetings at state, district and block level, on weekly/fortnightly basis
  • Examine current gaps and needs in supply chain management, service provisioning, training and mentoring requirements and support team to build sustainable solutions to address the gaps.
  • Assist State NHM in executing approved projects under State PIP and strengthen contracting, outsourcing, and capacity building of existing health structures, etc.
  • Aid in roll out and monitoring of field based interventions. Travel to field operations - 60% of the time, based on program needs.
  • Develop short -term action plans. Plan district wise meetings/ orientation programmes well in advance, based on overall strategy, in consultation with the Senior Managers.
  • Ensure regular, final and timely submission of reports on all the field activities.
  • Support the government in designing budget requirement, training calendars, action plans for program implementation and monthly operational plans for internal purposes.
  • Attend monthly and quarterly review meetings.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
  • At least 9 years of relevant professional experience in demanding, results -oriented environments in the public sector and/or private sector
  • Ability to manage multi -sectoral small teams
  • Prior experience working with health programs
  • Demonstrated ability to advocate and drive change in large programme settings
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in cross functional teams
  • Strong command of Hindi and English required, regional Indian languages is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills, including development of compelling presentations with the ability to translate technical content and results into formats suitable for various audiences
  • Ability to work independently on complex projects and proactively manage projects with minimal supervision
  • High EQ and excellent interpersonal skills, especially in cross -cultural settings and highly distributed work environments with demonstrated ability to build relationships quickly
