Qualification : B.Tech with MBA ( Supply Chain Management/Materials Management)
Experience (Specify, if any particular area or industry preference)
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience (Domestic and Global)
- Knowledge in ARIBA Portal
- Knowledge in SAP
- Proven analytical ability
- Sincerity
- Experience using procurement software and databases.
- Supervisory experience.
Key Purpose of this position
- Responsible for analyzing our current purchase systems and create the best methods for day-to-day purchase operations leveraging technology. Overseeing the purchase department, manage relationships, establishing the organizational goals based on Inventory requirements and the sales/production projections for the coming year and setting career objectives for each member of the entire purchase team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops a purchasing strategy.
- Reviews and processes purchase orders.
- Manages other members of the purchasing team.
- Maintains records of goods ordered and received.
- Negotiates prices and contracts with suppliers.
- Builds and maintains relationships with vendors. Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers who are aligned to the company's needs.
- Identify new suppliers as per the criticality of supplies, design terms and negotiate supply agreements where appropriate, including discount structures and volume rebates.
- Selects prospective vendors and negotiates contracts.
- Foster close working relationships with associated departments eg. Engineering & Projects, Production Planning and Control, Manufacturing, Administration.
- Evaluates vendors based on quality, timeliness, and price.
- Schedules deliveries and ensures timely fulfilment of orders.
- Researches and evaluates vendors to compare pricing and services.
- Coordinates with fellow managers to monitor inventory and determine supply needs.
- Ensures quality of procured items and addresses problems when they arise.
- Keeps up with trends in procurement.
- Travels to vendor locations.
- Stays current with purchasing technology trends and oversees purchase and implementation, as necessary.
- Review of existing SOPs/processes, formulation including modification of SOPs/processes
- Collaborate with inventory control and production/sales to develop metrics for gauging inventory level needs and then maintaining those levels throughout the year
- Take the lead in creating profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow-moving stock to help offset losses
