Job Description
Overview:CfBTES seeks a Skills Development Specialist for a skill development survey in Karnataka. The Skill Development Specialist will support and validate Research Specialist - Survey design, data collection tools, check whether FGDs meet the objective of the Skill Demand Survey. Be part of the activities, periodic meetings, and individual input to team members, and analyzing the data. Anticipate activities to occur potentially in 7 months between April/May and October/November 2022, with an estimated LOE of six months.
Job Summary / Responsibilities:
The Skills Development Specialist is responsible for supporting implementation and data collection activity in the areas of workforce development and skills development. S/he will lead identification of proven models and approaches that will capture relevant skills related information for the individual and productivity for their employer; to be integrated throughout the Program. Skills are defined broadly and can encompass work readiness skills, soft skills, sector specific technical skills, entrepreneurial skills, among others as needed by the target populations and employers.
S/he will advise, create and, if need be, facilitate process and tools to enhance quality and performance of partners to enable them to achieve Quality data Collection by covering right stakeholders gender, age group, population, industries, etc. S/he should have extensive experience providing direct services to young people, ideally including employability and/or employment outcomes.
Qualifications:
Postgraduate in Management / Social Sciences / Public Policy / Economics
At least 10 years of experience in advisory, capacity building roles, including national development, ideally in skills, education, and youth development programs.
Experience with direct service provision to youth.
Experience working with skill service providers
Experience designing and implementing programming focused towards capacity building of organizations to deliver research relevant training.
Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to find viable solutions to complicated problems in a flexible, time sensitive and creative manner.
Strong team player, with demonstrated ability to positively motivate team members to success.
Demonstrated understanding of and passion for youth economic empowerment and workforce development. Deep appreciation for youth energy, leadership and entrepreneurial spirit.
Fluent in written and spoken English, Kannada fluency strongly preferred.
