Job Description
1.Basic Engineering
Basic Engineering for new projects Preparation of Flow sheet, Capacity mapping, Equipment design, PFD, P & ID, utility calculations & sizing.
Standardization of Equipment specification for critical equipment learnings from existing sites to be incorporated at design stage
Collaborating with external consultants & subject matter experts for basic engineering based on project requirement. Collaboration with project team for handover of basic engineering documents & facilitate detailed engineering
Site support for commisioning of new project
2. Process Improvement
Identify yield improvement opportunities for major products, collaborate with various stakeholders like R & D, Operations and implement action items
Connect & collaborate with operations team and site leads and identify potential areas for improvement in time cycle of unit operations / processes and propose and implement technical solutions
Carry out technical assessment of unit operations e.g. heat transfer, distillation, mixing, filtration using standard engineering calculations and implement improvement solutions.
Modelling & simulation of unit operations using software e.g. CFD, Aspen
3. New Technology
Evaluate semi-continuous / continuous manufacturing opportunities for processes, create proposal for POC, engage with stakeholders and manage execution of trials to confirm feasibility and benefits, implementation at scale post approval
Evaluate and propose techniques for online monitoring of critical process attributes & support implementation to achieve consistent quality
Assess energy efficient alternate technologies, engage with cross functional stakeholders for evaluation & support implementation.
Evaluate new technologies available in the market for improving efficiency of unit operations
4. R & D Collaboration
Engage and actively collaborate with R & D to drive improvement in existing processes & implementation in plant. Design of pilot plant for scaleup of new product / process trials. Assess FMEA process for new products for adequacy in implementation
Closely collaborate with R & D to define process steps for scale-up from development & ensure availability of process data to achieve RFT & robustness at plant scale
5. EHS
Collaborate with EHS department & Operations team to identify EHS improvement projects at sites, create proposals and support implementation. Upgradation of level of safety in current & new processes covering storage, handling and management of hazardous chemicals. Focus on solid and solvent handling processes
Participate in PRA process for new projects as per defined guidelines. Incorporate learnings of one site in other site
Define fail safe control philosophy for unit operations standardization of approach in existing plant
Water balance for sites, work out options for reduction of waste & design of ETP as per manufacturing site conditions
6. Quality & Energy
Study processes in detail to identify CTQ attributes & parameters and incorporate fail safe design criteria for key processes to remain in validated state
Support resolution of recurring quality issues by process & infrastructure analysis and identification of root cause and implementation of mitigation measures
Involve in energy assessment of utility consumption at key sites & processes and propose reduction measures under collaboration with operations teaM
7. People & OrganizationEnhance technical capabilities & understanding of processes among team to drive performance to next level
