Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- DB Support
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Administration/ Troubleshooting/ Maintenance of the MS SQL Database.
- Overall knowledge of database fundamentals and deep knowledge of database architecture and concepts.
- Solid development and troubleshooting knowledge of SQL Server (TSQL, Stored Procedures etc) and SQL trouble shooting tools.
- Hands-on experience in all generic database administration activities with ability to troubleshoot problems in these areas.
- Supports database performance by monitoring database performance; evaluate, tune and resolve processing and programming problems
- Experience with database backup and recovery methods and maintenance jobs
- Setup and maintain documentation and standards.
- Support development staff by tuning SQL queries for maximum performance
- Exposure to use of other Microsoft windows Diagnostic tools and applications.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system (Windows 2003/ 2008/2012).
- Familiarity, or knowledge of, common networking practices, and client/server applications
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with and ability to use Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to accurately gather, analyse and interpret data, identify, define problems, and make recommendations for resolution. Experience troubleshooting and managing technical escalations is critical.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team and other internal stakeholders
- Ability to work under pressure to complete tasks on schedule and with high quality
- Ability to work non-standard hours as part of 24X7 team
- Preferably good to know ServiceNow, Spotlight and Splunk tools
- Should be familiar with ITIL processes.
