ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:

• TESTING:

• Participate in the testing and monitoring of complex system/process changes and/or corporate projects.

• Interpret requirements documents/user stories to develop testing specifications, test scenarios and test cases.

• Extract data from multiple sources to identify cases that meet testing criteria.

• Develop and document test plans, scenarios, and test cases expected and actual results. Review results for accuracy. Communicate findings.

• Define acceptance criteria, develop test plans, and prepare test recommendations for consideration by management.

• COORDINATION:

• Assist in the coordination of the unit s testing activities.

• Gather and review relevant documentation.

• Work with stakeholders to define scope of testing.

• Assess testing needs and assign deliverables as appropriate.

• Support the Test Coordinator by serving as the Test Liaison and providing guidance to the System Test Specialists.

• Attend and participate in deliverable walk-throughs as appropriate.

• ANALYSIS:

• Assess and analyze testing needs.

• Apply testing perspective to research and understand current state and expected future state; as well as identify systems and processes impacted by changes.

• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure critical components and variables are considered in testing approach.

• Make recommendations for testing system or process changes to address current business needs.

• TRAINING:

• Develop training curriculum and materials.

• Conduct training and onboard new test unit employees as needed.

• Serve as a mentor to the System Test Specialists.

Minimum

• Effective oral and written communication skills

Preferred

• Prior experience in software testing.

• Acquire through a combination of on the job training, classes or seminars good working knowledge of all the following CPT-4, HCPCS, ICD10 -CM and hospital revenue codes, CMS 1500 and UB04 claim forms.

Computer skills/knowledge:

Minimum: Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Preferred: Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

• Read, analyze and interpret business documents such as HMSA s Medical Policy Manual, plan certificates, statistical data; federal and/or state government s documentation pertinent to HMSA s business.

• Ability to understand and interpret system requirements, research and analyze test case data. Ability to work independently or with a team to meet deadlines.

• Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.

• Must be able to prioritize work.

• Must be able to calculate amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions and percentages.
