Designation :  Medical Coder

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Accurately assign ICD-IO-CM codes to diagnoses from the care plans and documentation submitted by the client
• Perform OASIS reviews in accordance with guidelines
• Follow up with clients to obtain missing or incomplete information
• Stand up for what you believe in and educate colleagues and clients on your points of

view

• Act as a subject matter expert regarding Coding and OASIS questions by clients and key stakeholders
• Constantly up-to-date with coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements
• Review and identify errors and report them to supervisor or department manager for follow-up
• Probe clients' clinicians when code assignments are unclear or when documentation is inadequate or ambiguous

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Home Care Coding Specialist certification required

OASIS certification (COS-C or HCS-O) required

Healthcare background required

Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed

Experience with MS Office Suite such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
