Job Description
:Duties and responsibilities of an operations manager
- The operations manager has to schedule all the flights coming in and going out
- They even have to manage the delays that take in the flight timings
- They have to do security checks and then hire staff for their department
- They have to provide expert training to all the staff
- They have to make sure that all the government standards for safety and security are implemented
- They also have a say in the designs for the runways, if they find any specification out of order they can stop the operations on that runway till the problem is rectified
- They have to coordinate with the in-flight crew while landing
- In case of emergency landings, they have to take charge of the whole operation
- After emergency landing, they have to make a report on what went wrong and give it the proper authorities for inspection
- They have to constantly update themselves on newer and safer ways of coordinating operations
- They have to coordinate with all the airline operators
Education required by an airline operations manager
- Bachelor's degree in aeronautical science in mandatory
- Courses in airline operations are an added advantage
