Job Description
In this role you will need to:
- Work with product development groups to understand Functional, UX, Technical requirements and write test cases for system-level validation.
- Test Plan, Estimate, Prioritize and Co-ordinate testing activities.
- Execute Software and Embedded software system-level testing.
- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
- Be comfortable interacting and working directly with SW Development, FW Development, Program Management team to get the necessary support regarding key deliverables and interacting with them in an effort to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- Understand the database, API and backend integration with frontend software for end-to-end test coverage.
- Understand the drivers, registry, library paths, etc., that helps to understand the software and product implementation.
- Accept, leverage, and provide constructive feedback on existing test frameworks and test cases developed by others.
- Have a proper track on testing software applications on PCs, Macs, Android & iOS devices and being able to report and gather appropriate information to debug and pass on to Development.
- Performing compatibility testing across different OS versions.
- Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs resulting in detailed and informative reports for management.
- Collaborate with cross site teams across globe and work with multiple time zones.
- Responsible for zero defect leakage and own the software under test.
- Mentoring junior and/or less experienced QA team members and be a force-multiplier.
Key Qualifications
For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and behaviors to our team:
- 5 to 8 years of experience in SW/FW QA role.
- Strong understanding and experience in SDLC, STLC and Agile methodology.
- Valid Testing and/or Technical external certifications.
- Good in setup and maintain various Windows and Mac OS configurations.
- Strong experience in Desktop application testing in both PCs and Macs.
- Expert in Functional, Integration, Regression, Compatibility & Localization testing.
- Experienced with using JIRA, GIT or Agile based tools.
- Strong debug and trace skills data using USB analyzers, wire-shark, or similar tools.
- Exhibit strong domain knowledge on the products under test.
- Understand the system and recommend areas of improvements and enhancements.
- End to end ownership on the software release with minimal supervision.
- Provide technical leadership and influence to other team members.
- Self-motivated and excellent time management skills.
- Dedicated to customer focused coverage.
- Extra super in out of box thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English is a must.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- You are a team-first type of colleague.
Nice to have
- Python, C/Cc+, Java and/or other scripting languages.
- Having exposure to USB devices like webcams and keyboards/mouses.
Education
- B.E / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
