Job Decsription-
The Database Administrator is primarily responsible for the performance, integrity, security and maintenance of databases, database management systems and applications
related to the ERP system. This position plans, implements and manages backup and recovery operations according to business needs and ensures adherence to information security policies, standards and procedures.
- Manage, implement, maintain and support databases and database management
- systems.
- Develop, implement and maintain security measures to safeguard databases, audit
- and monitor for internal security issues.
- Oversee the import and export of data between data systems, including data
- mapping, coding and conversion scripting.
- Analyze, tune, monitor and troubleshoot database performance and space
- utilization.
- Ensure that administrative systems and databases are up to date with the most
- recent release, patches and bug fixes.
- Serve as the technical contact for databases and related applications, work
- collaboratively with IT staff to resolve issues.
- Analyze and document problems with databases/software for submission to
- vendor; resolve software problems and apply corrective action.
- Backup and restore databases, manage test environments; implement and manage
- database disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Good understanding of database architecture.
- Good understanding of Sql queries.
- Good understanding of UNIX environment.
- Good to have shell scripting.
- Good understanding of MySql engines
