We are Hiring for Technology Analyst Utilities
1) JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for working on Digital transformation initiatives for Pulp & Fiber business with focus on Operational Technologies like IIOT, MES, SCADA, DCS, Sensors, Digital Twin in the area of Utilities. Exposure to emerging technologies like Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Predictive/Cognitive Analytics etc.
Implement short- and long-term Digitization plans on the Utilities side of Operational Technologies specifically Power (Generation & Consumption), Steam, Water and mechanical equipments.
Be a Subject Matter Expert, Manage and sustain implementation of Manufacturing IT tools in the Business.
Knowledge of OT-IT integration security

3) JOB CONTEXT & MAJOR CHALLENGES

Birla Cellulose cherishes decades of market leadership with the sustainable volume supplies in the global market from its VSF manufacturing facilities spread across the multiple geographies. The production of Birla Cellulose fibre has cost competitive advantage because of its backward integration with uninterrupted pulp supply from pulp manufacturing units in India, Canada and Sweden. Business has established product of regular VSF, Dyed VSF and Modal in the market place in textiles and nonwoven applications.
With the rapid technology transformation of solvent spun fibres in the global market, the new arena has begun now for most cost effective and eco-friendly man made cellulosic fibers. It is imperative for Birla Cellulose to achieve success in the segment of solvent spun fibre and reinforce its market leadership in all major categories of manmade cellulosic fibres. In this context, all functions within P & B Business are expected to align with business needs and consistently deliver on time, superior quality and cost effective solutions to internal / external customers.

Being in a manufacturing industry it is our constant endeavour to sustain and improve quality and productivity. We are in process of leveraging IT in our plants by implementing softwares like Historian (AspenTech, OSI PI, Honeywell, etc.), IoT, etc.
There is a need to move to next level by identifying technologies and implement solutions in areas application based IIoT, sensors for collecting data, digitizing all manual process to ensure data consistency. Other technologies which shall give direct value to business in terms of quality improvement or decrease in operating cost.

In-depth and hands-on experience on various OT applications like MES, Advanced Process Control, Asset Performance Management, Plant control systems - DCS etc. Knowledge of solutions from OEMs like Aspen, Honeywell, Emerson, Siemens etc.
Knowledge of inferential / soft sensors
Exposure to Asset Digitization
Sensors, IIOT for Pumps, Motors, Gearboxes, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Compressors. Rollers etc.
Autonomous Operations using Robotics
Reliability Improvement Initiatives
Digital Twin, Asset Performance Management, Predictive Maintenance, Condition Monitoring etc.
Investigates root causes of technical issues, recommend and implement permanent solutions
