Job Description



Job Summary
Reporting to the Sr Manager, Database GTO, the Senior Oracle DBA will be the primary technical resource in developing and maintaining Finastra large and complex Oracle database infrastructure. The incumbent is responsible for building/managing business critical Oracle Databases to support multiple LOBs at Finastra, maintaining, enhancing, upgrading, and tuning existing Oracle databases, and supporting production operations.
Nice to have the hands-on experience with MongoDB to support our new DB platform for multiple LOBs.

Job Description
Job Accountabilities:
+ Support, administer and maintain the Oracle database environments.
+ Participate in On-Call Respond to incidents and provide RCA and resolution.
+ Create new database environments (DEV/QA/UAT/Production/Standby) to support development and product progression.
+ Responsible for project work package breakdown and effort estimation.
+ Perform Releases and Implementation to all database environments.
+ Responsible for storage estimation & forecast. Install, configure and manage RAC. Patch and upgrade databases
+ Should be able to respond successfully to incidents and provide timely RCA and resolution.
+ Effectively maintain and manage critical databases successfully.
+ Build, configure and install Oracle Database software and configure on line with team standards.
+ Provide project breakdowns and estimates on delivery.
+ Successfully deliver on project and TSS initiatives.
+ Support the Infrastructure Management team budget
+ Successfully support and complete projects to reduce cost by automation and consolidation whenever possible
+ Responsible for solution designs and documentation for projects.
+ Responsible for performance tuning. Create & manage/administer/maintain Grid Control/Cloud Control.
+ Provide complete documentation and handover to team members and L2 support.
+ Identify and recommend solution to performance issues on Oracle DBs.
+ Manage and monitor alerts for all DBs using OEM12/13c.
+ Responsible for solution designs and documentation for projects and training team members on new technologies
+ Train and assist in improving technical skills of the team by holding knowledge sharing session about new technologies and trends
+ Responsible for configuration and implementation of databases backups.
+ Configure, setup, maintain database security and auditing.
+ Disaster Recovery planning and implementation. Using RAT, SPA to during upgrade to reduce risk.
+ Manage and monitor backups on weekly basis.
+ Build, support and manage the DR environment.
+ Test and certify database upgrades and patches.
+ Review and resolve any performance issue that arises during patching or upgrades.

Requirements

Experience:
+ Must have over 5-7 years of experience managing large and complex OLTP and warehouse databases using Oracle 11g/12c/19c
+ Must have 5-7 years of experience in managing Oracle databases on Solaris/ AIX / Windows platforms + Experience with DB servers on Azure
+ Experience in tuning, monitoring, and securing Oracle databases
+ Experience in managing and tuning OLTP / DW databases
+ Experience Oracle Data Guard, ASM, RAC, AWR, and OEM
+ Experience in UNIX shell scripting
+ Experience in SQL / PLSQL development and tuning
+ Experience in operational and incident management/resolution
+ Strong documentation skills
Skills & Knowledge:
University degree/College diploma in computer science or a related field of study.
Ability to troubleshoot and, diagnose and resolve complex database issues
Good understanding of the differences between OLTP and OLAP systems and the different physical modeling and design considerations needed for each
Knowledge of any of the following would be advantageous:
o Previous experience in Financial Services management, analysis and reporting.
o Design and develop objects in Oracle Databases using PLSQL/SQL.
