Job Description

Educational Qualification : Graduate from recognised University / Diploma in Engineering & Diploma in Industrial Safety from Regional Labour Institute.

Reporting to : MANAGER SAFETY
Age : 25-32 YRS

Job Description (JD) :
Compliance with Legal Obligations and Company Requirements :
To advise and support the Plant Head, Management and other persons involved in planning, organizing, controlling and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for work.
To advise for the implementation of EHS Procedures and develop local work procedures to comply with legal obligations and Company requirements.
To liaison with government authorities for statutory compliance related to Environment management.
To review and advise for develop the Health & Safety Management Plan and communicate the plan at all level.
To advise for maintaining the Plant risk / environment aspect register comprising of significant risks and ensure that risk/Impact assessments are completed for all activities.
Co-ordinate and conduct Safety Committee meeting every month and prepare Minutes of proceedings and circulate to all concerned

Support for Department:
To advise and support the Plant EHS Council.
To advise Plant Head in ensuring that their Plant has key staff mobilized to carry out the H&S activities e.g. Risk/Impact assessors, First aiders, Fire watchers etc.

Accident investigation and prevention:
To receive and investigate reports of accidents, dangerous occurrences and fire damage, environment incidents determine their causes and make recommendations for improving recurrence prevention and controls.
To monitor that all accident / environment incidents are properly investigated by department managers and lessons learnt are shared appropriately.
To maintain a system for recording, reporting and investigating injuries, accident and dangerous occurrences& Environmental Incidents. Provide statistical summaries to the Plant Health & Safety and draw attention to significant trends and occurrences.

Health & Safety (HS) Training:
To communicate with Plant Managers / HOD's / HR to identify the training needs for employees & contractors and develop training matrix. Liaise with managers to nominate employees & contractors for training courses.
Design, develop, upgrade content on H&S training and impart training as required.

Company requirement fulfilment:
To co-ordinate with Logistic, Shipping, Stores, Purchase and Securities to upkeep the Fleet Management / DMC as per the guidelines of Head Office.
Periodic report submission to Head Office on DMC to be maintain and update in line with HO Fleet Management System in co-ordination with DMC Executive
To co-ordinate with internal stake holders/ departmental representatives/ HOD's / Plant Managers along with Contractor workmen / Supervisors/ Owners etc. for smooth operation of CMC as per the guidelines of Head Office.
Periodic report submission to Head Office on CMC to be maintain and update in line with Head Office's Contractor Management Centre in co-ordination with CMC Executive
To co-ordinate with internal stake holders/BBS Observers/ HOD's / Plant Managers for the monitoring of BBS culture / Near Miss reporting and periodic report submitting to Head Office
Co-ordinate and review for HO MAP Safety, CTA, LSR updation

Health & Safety (HS) Project:
To advise and support the Plant Projects/ Electrical / Utility / Production for any undertake any project on Health & Safety
To review and consult with stakeholders/ Project prior to implement any job activity / modification / implementation.
Health & Safety (HS) Material Procurement :
To advise and support the concern department for PPE and other safety item procurement
Promotion of Health & Safety (HS) programme
To Coordinate for celebration of National Safety , Road Safety Day / week every year
To Coordinate Reward and Recognition program on Health & Safety system
Skills and Knowledge
Ability in producing reports
Good knowledge of risk assessment
Excellent organizational, and motivational skills
Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
Thorough knowledge of health and safety laws and guidelines
Ability to prioritize tasks especially when handling an accident or incident
Ability to recognize when safety conditions need improvement
