Principal Engineer I , SW @ HARMAN

• Enable platform software for research and development of POCs and demos in areas like 5G

• Understand business requirements, associate them with agile entities (stories/tasks) for planning and execution

• Provide a bridge between Harman pre-sales team and the engineering team

• Design and develop scalable, maintainable, well mannered (CPU, memory, disk, power, network) automotive grade Linux applications

• Mentor and lead a team of engineers to develop POCs derived from product use case scenarios

Basic Qualifications:

• Masters/Bachelors degree in electrical, communications, computer engineering or a similar discipline

• Should have 8 to 12 years of overall experience in an embedded product development environment.

• Create reusable and scalable C, C++ code.

• Proficient in Object oriented analysis and Design, Data structures and Algorithms.

• Good experience in creating Low-level Design artifacts in UML.

• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills with embedded hardware

• Hands on experience using GDB and ability to analyze back traces

• Proficient understanding of STL (Standard Template Library): containers and algorithms.

• Good experience with application development in a Linux embedded environment

• Working experience

• In multithreading environment and thread synchronization techniques.

• With industry standard version control systems like GIT, Gerrit

• With Gtest based C++ unit test framework.

• Experience in Agile methodologies, Configuration and Project Management tools

• Good written and oral communication skills to collaborate with teams across geographies

Preferred Qualifications Desired Competencies :

• Hardware schematics analysis to understand hardware-software dependencies

• Resourcefulness in understanding problems and coordinating with multiple teams for issue resolution

• Willingness to contribute new ideas and be proactive
