This role will be in charge of all technical matters in the project under his/her responsibility. He/she will challenge the project as sold technical content/solution and also support cost comparison through technical benchmarking and will cooperate closely with other functions who manage the optimized technical solution and key cost drivers of the bids as well as in execution in case project awarded. He/she will be a Single Point Of Contact (SPOC) to the project bid and execution team with regards to all technical decisions/ matters including scheduling and process implementation.
Key responsibilities
Bid Engineering:
Harmonize inputs for time, scope and cost, Product solutions and Deliver harmonized project schedule.
Identify gaps between Donor vs bid requirements and challenge internal stakeholders to provide necessary information as needed
Challenge the core team for inputs and identify risk associated to scope committed
Analyse and challenge the scope and identify the opportunity
Project Planning , Scheduling, Risk management and Project Cost
Project Engineering
Identify and manage the clear scope split in terms of engineering aspects.
Support to implement project schedule, scope and cost
Manage cross function technical core team and lead the external communication with internal/external stakeholders
Implement necessary global/project specific processes to ensure smooth engineering delivery
He/she will be the single point of contact for all technical decisions from EWIS related to project.
Identify and manage technical risk assessment for project
Implement compliances and governance and assure no remarks
Monitor internal deliverables during various design phases and ensure necessary inputs from various stakeholders by developing Input and Output KPIs as required.
He/she will be the part of project Engineering core team and highlight periodic status and issues from EWIS Engineering related to project.
Responsible for management of all technical communications with internal / end Customer
Participate Project Core Team meetings as needed to highlight progress
Manage the various internal discipline of EWIS in terms of technical deliverables and interfaces for the project
Manage the E2E technical requirement management for all Electrical requirements flown down to EWIS BBs.
Integration of necessary international standards required for Electrical Design
Lead the Electrical design scope in front of relevant stake holders (functional architect, safety expert, customer, chief engineer, CoEs etc )
Drive internal/external design reviews for Electrical design and support First Article Inspections (FAIs) and prototype production including testing.
To analyse vehicle requirements and sub-system supplier inputs which are necessary for generating various electrical deliverable
To be present in the sub-system design reviews with supplier and customer.
Analyse and optimize the technical choices in terms of cost, reliability and safety.
Support testing team to test the functionality of the Control/Command on train level through specific hardware/software
Ensure engineering deliverables for end customers from Electrical design.
Ensure overall vehicle electrical design and performance.
Review of sub-system interface document and agreement inline with vehicle requirement and electrical concepts available.
Participate in vehicle functional design reviews
To be the Engineering function(s) direct interface to the Project Chief Engineer and the other project members with regards to the vehicle function and electrical requirements.
Provide field support during product introduction, reliability growth, and warranty period, in seeking solutions to electrical functional problems.
