Develop, implement,and document databases, data collection systems, data sets, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
On-time delivery (with pre-agreed quality parameters) of self-service analytics and BI portals.
Working with complex data relationships, translate business needs to technical specifications
Lead design and development of analytical solutions, e.g. benchmark dashboards, to enable self-service analytics for the business users.
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities i.e. Data cleansing.
Using ETL/ELT to create a dataset ready for analysis
Maintain and support data analytics and BI platforms i.e. End to End Environment Management of Alteryx, Tableau(hosted on AWS) etc.
Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting (L3 support), maintenance, and enhancement.
The post holder will carry out any other duties as are within the scope and purpose of the job as requested by the Line Manager and ensure full utilization of all ISS systems according to Standard Operating Procedures.
Deliver industry best practices, standards etc. fit-for-purpose for:
oAlteryx and/or Tableau
oMicrosoft SQL, SQL Server, stored procedures
oBuilding self-service predictive analytics and complex data visualizations
Provide expert advice and guidance to business users to ensure that they utilise the best data sources in their work, considering factors such as proposed use, data relevance, quality, timeliness, and completeness.
Perform impact assessment of solutions requests in collaboration with Technology and Data, as required.
Contribute to the definition of solutions architecture, with specific emphasis on the data and information layer.
Dimensionally modelled data warehouses.
Ingest, store, process and analyze data from different sources through a scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure with a philosophy of economy of scale.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills

Proven experience as an Analytics & BI Developer.
Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modelling) and data mining.
In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP), online transactional processing (OLTP).
Programming (XML/Javascript/Python/R etc.) and ETL/ELT frameworks.
Solid experience in data analysis, self-service reporting, predictive analytics, BI technologies by making use of advanced analytical software such as Tableau/Qlik, Alteryx/SSIS or similar.
Desire to make a difference and ability to adapt to change.
8+ Years in an IT environment with at least 5+ years of working experience in delivering Analytics and BI projects.
Strong understanding of SDLC/engineering processes, roles, Requirements Management, QA etc. with practical experience of tools supporting it viz. Jira, Confluence,Bitbucket, TeamCity etc.

Good understanding of project management methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Scaled Agile, SAFe, ITIL etc.)
Strong communicator (verbal and written); ability to talk to different disciplines of stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to work without the need for close supervision showing excellent time management, planning and organisational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to self-review work to ensure work is error free.
