This position is for Beckman Coulter team located at Danaher India Development Center (IDC), Bangalore
IDC is a research and development center with the vision of accelerating product roadmaps across various Danaher business segments. Started in 2014, the center now hosts 500+ associates, for multiple Danaher operating companies focusing on Diagnostics, Life Science, and Environmental and Applied Science segments. The operating companies includes Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Leica Biosystems, Danaher Digital, Hach, Leica Microsystems, HemoCue, Videojet and Cepheid.
The IDC workforce comprises of various product engineering teams, working on development of software and hardware components of cutting-edge products for, Immunoassay, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular diagnostics, Oncology, Neurosurgery and Water Quality. IDC has evolved as center of excellence for Cloud and data analytics, with significant contributions to the key informatics solutions. The teams consist of highly hardworking software & hardware engineers and development managers. The teams are supported by local Product managers, Quality & Regulatory and Intellectual property specialists.
The inhouse teams works in close coordination with other global R&D centers at US, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, Denmark and Sweden. Located at the center of Bangalore IT HUB, IDC is housed at state of art facility, measuring 120 K
Description
Project Manager for Leica Biosystems in the India Development Centre (IDC) has the primary responsibility to manage and control new and/or current business major programs and product line, overseeing the product development process from initial business case development, to transfer into sustaining operations. The Senior Project Manager functions as the Core Team Leader of a cross-functional team with full responsibility for the project from both business and technical perspectives. He/ she is accountable to the Leica AS L2 and Leica L1 leadership team for the success of the project. The role will work with onsite product manager and Bangalore agile team to come up with the requirementsKey Accountabilities & Qualifications
  • Plan and control the delivery of projects over the full system development lifecycle (requirements, design, build, verification, design transfer, validation) involving globally distributed scrum teams
  • Provide project leadership and direction by engaging with other project managers, product managers, development teams and key stakeholders
  • Define and manage key planning and control deliverables including (but not limited to) schedule, scope, cost, risk and resource allocation plans.
  • Track progress against plan. Use risk management practices to mitigate or countermeasure issues. Challenge the project team to achieve on time results and deliver projects in line with agreed schedule and budget.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
  • Ensure projects are executed in compliance with the applicable Quality Management System (QMS) and applicable standards. Participate in internal and external audits where required to demonstrate compliance.
  • Provide progress updates to project boards and steering committees at a regular cadence.
  • Working with Engineering Managers, apply agile methods to engage with the team and track progress against a project master schedule or equivalent tracking mechanism. Instil an innovative continuous delivery culture within the team to meet and exceed customer needs.
  • Encourage close and effective working relationships between teams and ensure proper regard and compliance to standardised process where appropriate.

Profile:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with strong understanding of project management 10 years minimum experience post-graduation.
  • A minimum of five (5) years experience in project management. Must have had project delivery responsibility for end-to-end solution delivery, preferably across a range of applications.
  • Track-record of successful management of end-to-end projects.
  • Teamwork - must be able to influence teams/associates from multiple disciplines must be able to inform, convince, and persuade others to action using the internal continuous improvement framework to drive sustainable results and provide guidance as needed.
  • Ability to work with project stakeholders and across technical domains to develop plans and establish controls.
  • Mature understanding of the fundamentals of project management as per the key competencies identified in the PMBOK or equivalent method. Must actively contribute to personal development plans.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills in the English language.
  • Result-oriented, Problem solving using logic and tools, drive effective solutions.
  • Ability to draft and present project status through presentation medium with the ability to succinctly communicate meaningful situational data and key messages across different levels of management.
  • Project Management Certification
  • Experience working in a SAFe methodology or LeSS method of delivery
  • Exposure to InterOp, HL7 (Medical device /healthcare )
  • Experience working in a regulated environment e.g. medical device development.
